Miss
Indian World Cruises the Bahamas:

June 17, 2011 was the day Miss Indian
world and her companions departed Port Canaveral Florida, on board The Royal
Caribbean Cruise Ship; Monarch Of The Sea. The three day cruise made port of
call in Nassau, the largest City in the Bahamas, followed the next day for a
full day of sun and beach activities, on the private island owned by the
Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. Accompanying Marjorie, was Kira,
and MIW Committee members Azella Humetewa and Melonie Mathews.
At the 2011
Miss Indian World Pageant, Kira was the contestant who sold the most raffle
tickets. Her prize for her efforts she won the opportunity accompany Miss
Indian World on the cruise. Read Marjory's on words, her cruise

World Eskimo
Indian Olympics 2011
The World Eskimo Indian
Olympics is an annual
event that takes place
in Fairbanks Alaska the
third week of July. This
event brings people all
around Alaska and the
globe to participate in
over 20 traditional
native games,
traditional native
dancing, the Miss
W.E.I.O pageant, and
vendors selling
beautiful native arts
and crafts.
This year happened to be
the 50th anniversary of
W.E.I.O. and featured
all the past Miss WEIO
queens, played original
native games from the
first WEIO, and
recognized all the world
record holders of the
Native Games. This year
was special to me
because I was the
previous Miss WEIO and I
now hold the title of
Miss Indian World.
I participated in
several of the games
including the Fish
Cutting contest,
Nalakutak (blanket
toss), Greased Pole
Walk, Indian Stick Pull,
One-Foot High kick, and
Kneel Jump. Each of
these games were played
by dozens of athletes.
These games start at
10am and continue until
11 at night with some
native dancing during
break time.
I had so much fun during
W.E.I.O and met many
people, I suggest this
event for everyone who
is interested in huge
cultural celebrations.
