Gathering of Nations Named Among North
America’s 100 Best Events for 2014
Albuquerque, N.M The 31st Annual Gathering of
Nations, to be held in Albuquerque, N.M. between April 24 and 26,
2014, has been designated as one of the Top 100 Events in North
American for 2014 by the American Bus Association (ABA). ABA’s 2014 Top
100 Events Selection Committee chose the Gathering of Nations, the world’s largest gathering of
Native American and indigenous people, from hundreds of event nominations submitted by ABA
members. Judges considered the event’s broad appeal, its accessibility to motor coaches and
skill at handling large groups, and a variety of other relevant criteria when developing the list.

Tribal Nations Conferences, President Obama and his Administration
have worked to ensure that tribal leaders are directly involved in
setting policy priorities. Today, President Obama is hosting the
2012 White House Tribal Nations Conference at the Department of
This conference continues to build upon the
President's commitment to strengthen the government to government
relationship with Indian Country, by providing invited leaders from
the 566 federally recognized tribes the opportunity to interact
directly with the President and representatives from the highest
levels of his Administration. In conjunction with today's event, the
White House released a report, Continuing the Progress in Tribal Communities,
examines the President's agenda and how this Administration, by
working together with tribes, has made a difference for American
Indians and Alaska Natives.

Gathering of Nations Proud To Acknowledge Award Recipients
The National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development (NCAIED) is proud to announce the recipients of the 2011 Native American 40 Under 40, who will be recognized as part of the 36th Annual Indian Progress in Business Awards Event (INPRO) on Thursday, September 08, 2011 at The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
The Native American 40 Under 40 recognition was incorporated in 2009 as part of the National Center's 40th Anniversary and highlights 40 existing and emerging American Indian leaders under 40 years of age who have demonstrated leadership, initiative and dedication to achieve impressive and significant contributions in their businesses, communities and to Indian country. Last year, Melonie Mathews (Santa Clara Pueblo/Navajo), Program Coordinator for the Miss Indian World Program and Gathering of Nations received this prestigious award.
