The Gathering of Nations Powwow is the largest Native American Cultural Festival in the world, bringing together over 500 tribes, 3000 particpants and attracting 100,000 visitors each year, and reaching 7 million through the live webcast.  The Gathering of Nations Powwow features traditional Native American Singing (Drum Groups) and Dancing, a contemporary music stage, Traditional Horse & Rider Regalia Parade, Miss Indian World Pageant, 300 Artisans, Crafters and Traders in the Indian Traders’ Market, Tipi Village and the world’s largest tipi structure.

The Gathering of Nations Powwow on the Grounds at Expo NM (NM State Fairgrounds) is the Largest and most celebrated Native American festival in the World. One ticket (either General Admission or VIP) gives the attendee an opportunity to be immersed in the “Powwow” culture and see, hear and be among the thousands of participants; dancing & singing inside Tingley Coliseum, see the Grand Entry of all the Dancers and drum groups (12pm & 7pm) as well as enjoy the various dance categories throughout the day.  Tantilize your ears and tap a foot or two while listening to the best contemporary music (all genres) on the outdoor Stage 49 all day, with National/International Headliners both evenings of the Powwow (TBA).

The Indian Traders Market is the a shoppig paradise for anyone looking for custom, hand-crafted Native American jewelry, clothing, regaila, crafts, fine art, pottery, quilts and includes health, educational and other information booths.

The Native Food Court offers a variety of Traditional & Contemporary food choices, included an event favorite “Frybread” and “Indian Tacos”.  In additon, there are some healthy food options.

Horse & Rider Regalia Parade showcases the unique, distinguished heritage, and culture of the North American tribes which originate the horse culture way of life. Riders and the horse are dressed in traditional Native American regalia and “dressed” in various tribal styles and adornments.  The announcer of the Horse Parade, reveiws each rider/horse with a description of the regalia worn and its representative tribe.

Last but not least, sit in the tranquil tipi village or under the world’s largerst wooden tipi structure.  The sights and sounds of the Powwow will touch your soul.

Day 2 of this amazing event, features similar activities.  In addition, Saturday afternoon features the Tiny-tots (ages 0-5 years old) dancing and our 70+ Elder Dancers. Saturday evening is the most spectacular of the Grand Entry of Dancers (6pm) of the weekend as well as the Crowning of Miss Indian World.

Powwow

Inside Tingley Coliseum on the Grounds at Expo NM, is the heart and soul of the Gathering of Nations.  With over 2500 Native American Dancers and 30 Drum Groups from tribes across North America, the thunderous drums bring the energy and spirit of the Powwow, while the high intensity of the dancing brings a panorama of color and excitement.  Dance Styles are reprehensive of the Plains’ tribes as well as seen in various regalia’s. Everyone who attends for the first time, never forgets the powerful and moving feelings they experience when witnessing the Grand Entry of Dancers and the ceremonial parts of the program.  This is truly an immersion into Native American Culture.

HORSE & RIDER REGALIA PARADE

The Gathering of Nations Pow Wow honors the Horse Nation with the 2026 GON Horse & Rider Regalia Parade held Friday & Saturday, April 24-25, 2026.

This parade showcases the unique, distinguished heritage, and culture of the North American tribes which originate the horse culture way of life. Riders and the horse are dressed in traditional Native American regalia and “dressed” in various tribal styles and adornments.  The announcer of the Horse Parade, reveiws each rider/horse with a description of the regalia worn and its representative tribe. It is a treasure to have riders from tribes across the USA.

The Parade honors this tradition and the tribal nations that make up the Horse Nation. In addition, the beauty and majestic presentation of the Horse and Rider Regalia Parade, there is a competition for the participants that bring out the Best in Show.

STAGE 49 Music Stage

The Gathering of Nations Limited is a strong supporter of Indigenous performing arts which provided artists with the platform to reach out to new and existing fan bases on behalf of the outstanding groups of Indian Country!

Stage 49 features Indigenous Traditional and Contemporary artists in the following genres: Rock, Blues, Reggae, Hip Hop, Country, Jam Bands, Dance, and much more! Don’t forget to catch some of the roving traditional performance groups around the event. Always an eclectic mix, Stage 49 creates spontaneous & amazing performances.
