Bring your students to experience the vibrancy, beauty, and living traditions of Indigenous cultures at the world’s largest gathering of Native Americans and Indigenous peoples. School Day is designed especially for students and educators to enjoy an unforgettable cultural learning experience outside the classroom. Set against the backdrop of Expo NM in Albuquerque, NM, this culturally rich event promises an enriching experience that showcases the beauty and vibrancy of over 700 tribes from the United States and Canada. TEACHERS AND CHAPERONES MUST ENTER WITH THEIR STUDENTS.

Schedule of Events on Friday, April 24th:

  • 9:00 am – Box Office Opens
  • 10:00 am โ€“ All Entry Gates Open to the Public
  • All day: Music and Entertainment on Stage 49, Traders Market (craft vendors and information booths โ€“ schools, recruitment, etc)
  • 12:00 pm โ€“ Grand Entry of Dancers inside Tingley Coliseum (best to have group leaders find seating as soon as possible in Tingley)
  • 4:00 pm โ€“ Horse Rider Regalia Parade around the Expo NM Grounds

How to Purchase:

Bring one of the following to the School Group Box Office:

  • โœ” Purchase Order (will be invoiced after the event)

  • โœ” Cash

School Group ticket may be purchased at the following dates/times:

  • Thursday, April 23 (10:00 AM โ€“ 3:00 PM)

  • Friday, April 24 (9:00 AM โ€“ 12:00 PM)

For educators seeking to complement their curriculum with practical insights into Native American history and culture, the Gathering of Nations serves as an invaluable resource. The eventโ€™s multifaceted program, ranging from vibrant traditional dances and melodic singing performances to contemporary music, along with an array of Native food and arts and crafts vendors, ensures an educational experience that is both profound and entertaining.

Please give yourself extra time for Parking, Security/Bag Check & Entry. For School Groups ONLY: Students may bring an individual sack lunch, no glass containers or coolers.ย

Bus Parking:

  • Enter through Gate 1 (Central Ave โ€“ Westbound)

Important: If chaperones are arriving in separate vehicles, please follow the bus and park inside Gate 1.

All School Group Vehicles:

  • Park inside Gate 1

  • Enter through the Purple Awning (Westside of the grounds)

School Group Box Office Location:
Located on the Westside of Expo NM near the Purple Awning entrance.
